Note From Coach Anna About Fins
All swimmers will be required to purchase a pair of fins this year. Fins have many purposes when training competitively. For younger swimmers, fins are instrumental in developing proper technique. They help beginners stay afloat easier, so instead of concentrating on staying on top of the water, they can concentrate on certain parts of their strokes. Fins also reinforce the proper way to move the legs during freestyle, backstroke and butterfly kick. For older swimmers, fins help strengthen the legs during long sets because the swimmers will be pushing more water with their muscles than what they are used to. They also help older swimmers work on butterfly and freestyle speed by taking pressure off of the shoulders. Not to mention, fins are fun! You can buy the fins required directly from the NorCal swim shop at the link below. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thanks! See you at the pool! – Coach AnnaPlease note that the fins are $20 and should be of this exact type.
Swim fins are available at the pool to try on for size.
